Vernon B.C. is a community 46 km's (29 miles) north of Kelowna.  With a population of 39,000 and growing, Vernon is the largest community in the North Okanagan.  Vernon B.C. is the oldest community in the Okanagan.

Vernon is a popular summer tourist destination, and the host of the Funtastic Slow Pitch Tournament.  Silver Star Mountain ski resort also makes Vernon a popular winter recreation center with over 60 Km (37 miles) of trails and 700 cm (23 inches of the worlds best snow.

The Vernon Winter Carnival is hosted each February, complete with a parade and hot air balloon events.

Vernon also has some of the best golfing opportunities in the Okanagan Valley, from Predator Ridge Golf Resort to the newest creation
The Rise.  Vernon Golf and Country Club is the oldest golf venue in the North Okanagan.  Other wonderful courses include Spallumcheen Golf Course and Royal York Golf course (in Armstrong).
